Located in the heart of Esquimalt, Esquimalt Village Cohousing sits within easy walking distance of everyday amenities — a grocery store directly across the street, the Archie Browning Sports Centre, Esquimalt Recreation Centre, public library, a weekly farmers market, local shops and restaurants, and public transit connections to greater Victoria. The community is being designed to offer a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom homes.
The site has been secured, and a rezoning application for a Comprehensive Development Zone has been submitted to allow construction of a multi-family cohousing community. The proposed plans emphasize generous indoor and outdoor common spaces designed to support shared meals, gatherings, and everyday connection among residents.
The community is being designed collaboratively by its future members, guided by experienced cohousing professionals. Esquimalt Village is the first joint venture between Alastair Townsend of Township LLC and Ronaye Matthew and Margaret Critchlow of Cohousing Development Consulting.
